From the Editor's Desktop Why me? Some of you may be wondering why I wrote all the articles in the May 1993 issue. It wasn’t because we don’t have enough material for Macintosh Tips & Tricks. It was because the sponsor specifically requested articles on Word, Excel, and FileMaker Pro. Believe it or not, we don’t have enough material covering these popular applications. If you work regularly with any of them, why not write an article for us? New Department This month is the kick-off for a brand new department: Productivity Tools. This is where readers can learn about some great Macintosh software products that can make Macintosh computing life faster or easier. No More Pictures for the Electronic Version Because of a number of comments by readers regarding the file size of the electronic version of Macintosh Tips & Tricks (see the Letters department), we’ve decided to eliminate the graphics accompanying articles in that version. From now on, graphics will only be present in the printed version, which is available to paid subscribers only. This should greatly reduce the size of files. We hope that readers interested in illustrated articles will consider a subscription to Macintosh Tips & Tricks. If so, subscribe now — the rate changes to $14.95 next month. — MLL •
